Dolphins, Bulls and Civilization

civilization barbarism did not suppress, the refined and made more cruel and barbaric.
Voltaire (1694-1778) French philosopher and writer.

Dear friends: Reflection Today, I am sure that will raise cries of amazement, disbelief and even anger. Coincidentally I found a chilling photos (which are those that give rise to this comment). The North Sea surrounding the Faroe Islands, Denmark, stained red with the slaughter cruel, ruthless and irrational dolphins of the species "cauldron" that friendly approach the coast, attracted by the excitement of young Danes who thus "celebrate" their arrival into adulthood, slaughtered to convert it into a literal orgy of blood, following a "tradition" that has 1200 years. Do not say that civilization allows us to eliminate viciousness and also allows us retain the most noble of human beings? This leads me to ponder the inevitable question arises and you really are and live in a civilized world?
If Denmark is one of the countries with higher rates of welfare and social progress, what degree of civilization will have to judge by the comments? If we as a civilized person an educated and refined, and imbued with civic life, as opposed to simple ignorance and barbarism or civilization What adjective would put them? Just beware before launching the first adjective, lest we reverse. If the Mexican company currently rates personal and family welfare (and thus reflect social) put us in places quite distant from reality Danish, and on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest degree of civilization, how much would we have? Dear Friend, friend, let us honestly rated, (hope that this is passing), but I want to remind you that the Mexicans did not kill dolphins en masse, or dyed red seas, is not it?.
But make no mistake, the Mexicans do not have and celebrate the fiesta brava? Currently banned in many countries. Is not that civilization had already left far blood orgies of the Roman circus, which recognized historians have regarded as visible signs of decay the Roman Empire? The cruel and bloody spectacle where they faced men and beasts to the delight of the crowd aroused by the smell of sweat and blood. Has anything changed since then? Many things. Now they are "parties" organized and television, where the income makes it a very profitable show in Mexico, is "performance" regulated by law. Where the animal is harassed, scared and cornered, and where only his survival instinct makes ram, where the animal is weakened by the continuing loss of blood, for "glory" of a "torero" and shouts of "ole" hilarious from the crowd. That is strange the human being over 5000 years of history, has failed to overcome the old instincts of primitivism and barbarism that puts it at a lower level than those beings with which it intends to have fun and show courage. That, my friends, I can not I call it civilization.
